Get access to your Microsoft Account from your wrist.
Initially, Microsoft introduced password-free sign-ins to users account with an Authenticator app for iOS and Android last year. The app allows you to approve requests to sign in to your Microsoft Account without a password. However, Microsoft as now extends this same feature to a new Apple Watch app in other to allow its users to get their account sign-in approved from their wrist.
This new app will allow Microsoft Account users approve any request that typically requires a password, PIN, or biometric authentication straight from this Apple Watch. The watch will display Push notifications which will allow Microsoft Account users to select the number that’s shown in the sign-in screen to approve the request. This makes it easy to setup straight from an Apple Watch, and if you are already a Microsoft Authenticator user, then you can easily move personal and work accounts from your iPhone over to a watch.
Initially, Microsoft is trailing this app in public preview and plans on making it available to every user within the next few weeks. The Microsoft Authenticator is limited only to personal Outlook accounts and work-related accounts like Office 365. If you would like to test the Apple Watch app early, you can sign up to become a Microsoft Authenticator beta tester right here.
